Metamorphosis of the Black Fairy Tale, 2018-20, is an artistic project born in the dark like fairy tales.Starting from remote and ancient origins, the fairy tale was an important moment of sacral sharing between adults uncensored as happened later.

The fairy tale has always allowed us to accept life even in its supreme cruelty.

Photographs, Metamorphoses represented in a current key, which tell the tension to change, through the journey that is intrinsic in the black heart of fairy tales.

We find in the thematic sections curses and liberations, as in the famous and beloved “Beauty and the Beast” of Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve, mutations in animals and deprivations, as in the fairy tales of Brothers Grimm, “The Six Swans” and in “The Girl Without Hands”, or in Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Red Shoes”.

Finally, to cross into dendrophilia, as in the Italian fairy tale, “La Mortella” by Giambattista Basile, where a young prince falls in love with a myrtle plant and decides to marry it to change its fate.

Images that accompany the visitor on a visual journey “through the woods” as fairy tales always and forever do.

A primordial and wild journey, like a real initiatory rite.

Metamorfosi (La Fiaba nera), 2018-20, è un progetto artistico che nasce al buio come le fiabe.A partire da origini remote e antichissime, la fiaba era un momento importante di condivisione sacrale tra adulti senza censure come invece avvenne in seguito.

La fiaba ci permette da sempre di accettare la vita anche nella sua suprema crudeltà.

Fotografie, Metamorfosi rappresentate in chiave attuale, che raccontano la tensione al cambiamento, attraverso il viaggio che è intrinseco nel cuore nero delle fiabe. Troviamo Maledizioni e liberazioni, come nella celebre e amata Bella e la Bestia di Villeneuve, Mutazioni in animali e privazioni, come nelle fiabe dei fratelli Grimm, I sei cigni, La fanciulla senza mani o in Scarpette rosse di Andersen.

Per sconfinare infine in Dendrofilia, come nella fiaba italiana La mortella di Basile, dove un giovane principe si innamora di una pianta di mirto e decide di sposarla per cambiarne la sorte.

Combinando fotografia e installazione la coppia artistica e di vita Luca Bottazzi & Andrea Celeste Righi realizzano un’esposizione che accompagna il visitatore in un percorso visivo “attraverso il bosco” come lo fanno da sempre e per sempre le fiabe.

Un viaggio, primordiale e selvaggio, come un vero e proprio rito iniziatico.
